The client is a Swedish web consultancy helping traditional retailers to launch successful ecommerce websites. The primary objective the project was to build a highly customizable shopping cart solution that the client could implement for its customers. The client required the shopping cart solution to work in any country, with any currency, any freight rate, at any tax rate and for any type of product. In addition, the application was to be easily installed through a guided installation process.

Solution: Extensive and User-friendly Solution Developed in PHP

Through the administrator control panel the user can:

• Create attributes and attribute groups, used to set up dynamic fields for different type of products
• Turn on or off any of the four payment gateways integrated
• Export all reports to PDF or Excel
• CMS for front pages
• Multi-language using Zend Framework's translation class
• Export and import customers
• Manage different languages, VAT rates, currencies, freight rates and so on
• Set exchange rates for various currencies
• Advanced freight rate management based on number of parcels in order, weight, special deals, and/or ship-to country
• Configure shipping methods available to customers
• Configure META tags for various pages
• Manage number of items on stock
• Send messages and newsletters
• Manage support tickets

• All product pages are accessed through clean and search engine friendly URLs, such as www.domain.com/footwear/casual/lacoste .
• An installation guide has been built to let end users install the software on their own.
