LiteBreeze ERP by PHP and MySQL

Challenges

Management of LiteBreeze Infotech needed a centralized system for storing information related to all departments within the company as well as all PHP web development projects. Having all information in one place would save lots of time as information would be found faster. It would also provide more accurate reports allowing management to take better and faster decisions. Challenges faced varied depending on department:

Human Resources

Staff at the HR department were conducting anywhere between 50 and 100 interviews and practical tests per month. They wanted a system where they easily could manage job seeker's results and management's decision on whether or not to hire a certain job seeker.
An electronic time clock was also needed so that HR did not manually have to keep track of when staff came and went and how much overtime to pay.

Quality assurance

The team leader of the growing QA team needed a way to manage test rounds carried out on projects, the bugs found during the test rounds, whether or not a bug had been fixed and rechecked and finally a number of reports which could be provided to management and the clients.

 

Management

In addition to the requests from the various departments described above management wanted:

• scheduling to be integrated with the ERP based on the time budget for each project as well as the time spent historically (which also is reported by staff into the database).
• a self-costing budget which fetches data from the staff registry among other registries. Based on the expenses registered and total staff the hourly rate which the company needs to charge is calculated.
• the accounting to be shifted from Quickbooks and instead be integrated into the ERP to allow for interaction with other systems within the ERP. As the ERP is an online application it also allows management to access the information from anywhere.
• information on proposals given to clients and the outcome
